After receiving a Master’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri in 2003, Jean Chung, a native of Seoul, South Korea, returned to Seoul from the U.S. to pursue her goal to be an international photojournalist. During her three-year stay in Seoul, she covered various news events and generated photo stories extensively in Asia and the Middle East. Having traveled to Central Asia several times in recent years, she decided to move her base to Kabul, Afghanistan, to document the changes of the country and to cover in and around the region. Her work has featured on various publications such as Los Angeles Times, Stern, Der Spiegel, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Time Asia, and French GEO.
